To create a Princeton that's more reflective of student needs and student voices. UMA

As Treasurer, DEI Chair, and U-Councilor, Uma has...

  • ​Managed USG's $1.2 million budget, increasing funding for student groups and events like Lawnparties!

  • Successfully advocated to expand gender inclusive facilities

  • Successfully advocate for writing seminar reform

  • Successfully advocated for the observation of religious absences in academic settings

  • Created connections between USG and Affinity Groups on campus

  • Increased transparency of the USG's expanded budget

  • Successfully advocated for improved, inclusive dining policies.

Her experience as an Executive Member of USG and manager of the budget has equipped her with the experience to effectively advocate for student interests in front of administration, while maximizing USG resources for high-impact, meaningful programming and change.

AISHWARYA

As U-Council Chair, Aishwarya has...

  • Led the successful advocacy that cut co-pays on student therapy through the Student Health Plan in half this past summer by meeting with administrators and co-authoring a 28-page memo on the elimination of co-pays

  • Successfully advocated for the creation of TigerHub Mobile as leader of the USG Technology Working Group so that students could access TigerHub on their phone

  • Created the Wellness Space in Frist, for students to have a space to relax and focus on wellbeing

  • Started the program, TigerTransit at Dawn, which has allowed students to catch early morning travel back home during breaks

  • Successfully advocated for lengthening passing times between classes, as a member of the Committee on the Course of Study (COCS) to accommodate for an expanded campus and student body

  • Successfully advocated for a University-Wide Task Force on Mental Health, with student representation, which now collaborates with the Jed Foundation

  • Met with University administrators to advocate for reform of RRR to create clarity and consistency in the student right to expression.

Her experience as a founding member of the Mental Health Committe, member of the Academics Committee, and member of the CCA committee as well as her executive role on CPUC (the Council of the Princeton University Community) has equipped her with the experience to understand how University Administration thinks and how to actively advocate for students in front of them.

TOGETHER,WE...

Created the program, TigerTrips, which took 300+ students to NYC for free

Pushed for an increased USG budget to provide expanded funding for inclusive community programming and events like Lawnparties!

​Voted to reform the Honor Constitution, providing more flexibility in the disciplinary process for students

​
